A group "active in the post-election riots" in Iran claimed it assassinated a nuclear physics scientist on Tuesday, an Iranian media outlet said.

Fars News Agency said the Royal Association of Iran accepted responsibility for the killing of Massoud Mohammadi in a bomb blast near his home in northern Tehran.

"Members of this association had infiltrated into the country and had been active in the post-election riots of last June and played a part in setting public property on fire and inciting people to riot," Fars reported.

"It had been established during trials (of some of the members of this association) it had been established that they were in charge of showing people how to make Molotov cocktails and setting public places on fire."

An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also cast suspicion on Israel, the United States and their allies. And Press TV correspondent Amir Mehdi Kazemi, reporting from the scene of the assassination, quoted security sources "as saying that the equipment and system of the bomb used in the attack had been related to a number of foreign intelligence agencies, particularly Israel's Mossad."

Tehran's Prosecutor Abbas Jafari-Dolatabadi said Mohammadi taught neutron nuclear physics at Tehran University, Press TV reported.

Full-body scanners will be introduced in Canada in the wake of the failed Christmas Day bombing attempt of a U.S. airliner, Canada's transport minister said Tuesday.

Transport Minister John Baird said Tuesday 44 machines will be purchased. Twelve will be put in place later this month, and the rest will be operational in the spring.

The suspect in the failed Northwest Airlines bombing had changed planes in The Netherlands and gone through security, but not through a full-body scanner.

"Given the recent terrorist incident on Dec. 25, our government is accelerating its actions to protect air travelers," Baird said.

Baird also said they will also set up an airport watch system to look for suspicious passengers and tab them for enhanced screening.

Canada tested the scanners at a British Columbia airport in 2008. They received the blessing of Canada's privacy czar last October.

Britain, Nigeria and the Netherlands have already announced plans for body scanners.

All the children raise their hands. The teacher calls on Karl Scholz, a small lad in the front row. "We have talked about how to recognize the Jews."

"Good. Say more!"

Little Karl reaches for the pointer, steps up to the board and points at the drawings.

"One can most easily tell a Jew by his nose. The Jewish nose is bent at its point. It looks like the number six. We call it the Jewish six. Many non-Jews also have bent noses. The boy goes on. "One can also recognize a Jew by his lips. His lips are usually puffy. The lower lip often protrudes. The eyes are different too. The eyelids are mostly thicker and more fleshy than ours. The Jewish look is wary and piercing. One can tell from his eyes that he is a deceitful person."

The teacher calls on another lad. He is Fritz Müller, and is the best in the class. He goes to the board and says:

"Jews are usually small to mid-sized. They have short legs. Their arms are often very short too. Many Jews are bow-legged and flat-footed. They often have a low, slanting forehead, a receding forehead. Many criminals have such a receding forehead. The Jews are criminals too. Their hair is usually dark and often curly like a Negro's. Their ears are very large, and they look like the handles of a coffee cup."

The teacher turns to the students.

"Pay attention, children. Why does Fritz always say 'many Jews have bow legs', or 'they often have receding foreheads,' or 'their hair is usually dark'?"

Heinrich Schmidt, a large, strong boy in the last row speaks.

The Jew moves his hands when he talks. He "jabbers." His voice is often odd. He talks through his nose. Jews often have an unpleasant sweetish odor. If you have a good nose, you can smell the Jews."

The teacher is satisfied.

"That how it is, kids. You have paid attention! If you pay attention outside school and keep your eyes open, you won't be fooled by the Jews."

The teacher goes to the lectern and turns the board. On the other side a poem is written. The children read it out loud:

An American appeals court on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit by Holocaust survivors who alleged the Vatican bank accepted millions of dollars of their valuables stolen by Nazi sympathizers.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco upheld a lower court ruling that said the Vatican bank was immune from such a lawsuit under the 1976 Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, which generally protects foreign countries from being sued in U.S. courts.

Holocaust survivors from Croatia, Ukraine and Yugoslavia had filed suit against the Vatican bank in 1999, alleging that it stored and laundered the looted assets of thousands of Jews, Serbs and Gypsies who were killed or captured by the Nazi-backed Ustasha regime that controlled Croatia.

They sought an accounting from the Vatican, as well as restitution and damages.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she is "thrilled" that a US father and his young son have been reunited after a five-year custody battle involving Brazil, and sent them warm wishes for the holidays.

"I am thrilled that nine-year-old Sean Goldman was reunited with his father David Goldman earlier today in Rio de Janeiro and that they are flying home to New Jersey," Clinton said in a statement.

She thanked "a number of members of Congress and many concerned parties both here and in Brazil" for helping bringing the long standoff to a successful end.

"We also appreciate the assistance and cooperation of the government of Brazil in upholding its obligations under the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction," she said.

"I offer my warmest wishes for father and son as they celebrate their first holiday season together in five years," Clinton added.

Brazilian television earlier showed the Goldmans leaving Brazil Thursday on a chartered private jet for the United States.

The two were reunited just three hours earlier in the US consulate in Rio de Janeiro, in line with a Brazilian supreme court ruling awarding custody to the father, David Goldman.
