Tony Blair does want to be the first president of the European Council, his ally Lord Mandelson has told the BBC.

Mr Blair has made no public comment about the job, which will be created if the Lisbon Treaty comes into force.

But Cabinet minister Lord Mandelson said Mr Blair had told him he wanted the job but not so much "he couldn't live without it".

Gordon Brown is lobbying for Mr Blair but a lack of support from EU socialist leaders could scupper his chances.

The Lisbon Treaty came a step closer to coming into force during an EU summit in Brussels after EU leaders struck a deal with the Czech Republic - the last EU state to sign up to it.

At the summit French President Nicolas Sarkozy said he and German Chancellor Angela Merkel had decided on their own joint candidate.

In an apparent reference to Mr Blair, he added: "The first names to come out of the hat are not the ones that are finally chosen."

The British economy shrank 0.4 percent in the third quarter of the year, according to official statistics released Friday, dashing hopes that the country had emerged from recession.

The fall in gross domestic product for the sixth consecutive quarter takes the total loss of output since the recession began last year to 5.9 percent, leaving Britain in the grip of the longest period of continuous decline since the Statistics Office began taking records in 1955.

Economists had expected the update from the Office for National Statistics to be a close call between growth and contraction -- but most had plumped for slight growth and few had forecast a fall of that size.

The persistent decline comes despite attempts by the government and Bank of England to boost the economy, including holding interest rates at a record low of 0.5 percent since March, an unprecedented 175 billion pound ($290 billion) injection into the money supply and billions more through fiscal measures.

Israel is working to turn all western countries into third world dictatorships where repression and not democracy is the norm. The first step of course is all the "terrorist" propaganda used to take away people's rights.

After that the next step is to instill fear in the population. There is nothing like men with guns to instill fear in a population. When people feel they could die at any minute at the hand of state sanctioned murderers who will walk away scot free, they become extremely docile.

When the propganda exercise know as the Iraq war was going on, men armed with machine guns patrolled airports in the USA. The people in those airports around those machine gun armed men were scared to death.

Britain is now going to have men armed with machine guns on routine patrol. Just think about it. You go outside to pick up the morning paper and a man with a machine gun and a license to kill anyone walks by you. How would that make you feel first thing in the morning?

Most people would fear for their life and run back in the house. People hiding in their houses do not cause trouble for the government.

Especially when they know for a fact that these murders can kill anyone in broad daylight and get away with it.

Israelis always destroy the culture of the countries they take over. One of the ways they do this is by driving the people of the culture crazy. The Israelis will pass laws and make the citizens of the occupied country do things that are totally insane.

Taking a baby from it's mother is the most insane thing one human being could do to another. Taking a baby anything from any living creature is the most insane thing there is.

But the British Government is taking this woman's baby anyways. Why would they do something so obviously insane?

Israelis in the Israeli controlled country of Britain can get away with any crime.

"The arrest of Damian Green,

the Tory MP, as part of a Home Office leak inquiry, was "not proportionate", according to a review of the Scotland Yard investigation.

The leaked material only amounted to "embarrassment matters" for the Government and not issues of national security, former British Transport Police chief Ian Johnston said.

A separate review by Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary, Denis O'Connor, found that police should only investigate the most serious leaks."

Britain has the most egregious divorce laws in the world. A person can marry someone, stay married for a year or two, then be rewarded with half of the other person's money in some cases.

These laws are not accidental.

The divorce laws in Britain were written so that Israelis could marry rich non Israelis, then divorce them and take as much money as the Israeli controlled British court would give to the Israelis divorcee

Britain is not the only country where this practice takes place. The original divorce laws started way back when in the USA were started for the same purpose. Taking the money of rich non Israelis by having Israelis marry them, then divorce them with the new laws giving the Israeli a substantial amount of the non Israelis money.

An arrest warrant was issued against Omar al Bashir of Sudan over war crimes. The Israeli child molester Roman Polanski was arrested in Switzerland for an international arrest warrant issued in the USA, while on his way to speak at a conference.

Using these precedents lawyers are asking for an arrest warrant to be issued for the Israeli Ehud Barrack for war crimes in Gaza, when Ehud Barrack speaks at a British Labour party conference.

What will Britain do?

Will Britain adhere to the law and legal precedent? If Switzerland arrested the Israeli Roman Polanski on an international arrest warrant, what legal reason is there for not arresting the Israeli Ehud Barack on an international arrest warrant?

If the president of Sudan, Omar al Bashir, can be issued an arrest warrant for war crimes that will be served on him in any country that he visits, how will Britain justify not serving an arrest warrant on the Israeli Ehud Barrack for war crimes charges?

If Britain refuses to arrest Ehud Barrack, Britain basically admits that they are controlled by Israeli World Domination. Britain publicly demonstrates for the entire world to see that Britain applies one set of law standards to Muslims and other British citizens, and a completely different set of law standards to Israelis.

Saaf, 27, of St Michael's Hill, Bristol, pleaded guilty to killing 11-year-old Sam when she appeared at Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday.

She knocked down and killed Sam in Eastfield Road, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, on May 1, while driving a white Ford Focus estate.

Saaf, dressed in a grey pinstripe suit, purple jumper and black headband, appeared calm as she entered her plea.

The Recorder of Bristol, Judge Tom Crowther QC, adjourned sentencing to November 27 for psychiatric reports to be prepared.

Defending counsel Ian Kelcey said Saaf "was undergoing inpatient treatment at a mental health establishment".

Judge Crowther told the court a hospital disposal order could be considered.
